Shiraz Shiraz, the city of noble poets and historical monuments, lies gloriously in south west of the country and enjoys an amiable climate. The city is of great antiquity; its name is read in Archaemenians’ scripts (553 BC), discovered in Persepolis, their outstanding capital. Today, Persepolis is a premier attraction. Since it was made a city, Shiraz suffered destructions imposed by invaders or by natural disasters e.g. grave floods and tremors. The antiquities have left us a lot of archaeological monuments along with the memorial tombs of two august names, Sa’die and Hafez, the poets. Coming to Shiraz, one might lose the sense of time and place facing the grandeur shading over the so many sights: | |
