Kermanshah Although the city is not itself so old (4th century A.D), there are many ancient monuments around it. In Persian myths, Kermanshah was made by the mythological king Tahmoores, the devil buster. Kermanshah is located in a beautifully hilly area, with a lot of snow-covered mountains, so the climate is somehow cold during most of the year. Although the city has been a permanent target for invaders, we can find astonishingly attractive sites around it like: The famous Tagh-e-Bostan; Anahita Temple (between Kermanshah and Hamadan); The surprising Cave of Ghoorie Ghal’e on the way to Hamadan; Herculous Mosque; Sassanian Palace in Ghasr-e-Shirin (a palace described in tales like “ Farhad & Shirin”) and Bistoon. | |
