Qazvin Located in the central plateau of Iran on a level land, it has a mild climate in summer but a very cold one in winter. Qazvin, one of the Safavies’ capitals (16th century AD), has been destroyed by some earthquakes and invasions; nevertheless, there are still monuments left in or around it, all a shadow of its past grace and splendor, the most important of which are: The legendry castle of the drug oriented assassins, ALAMOOT; the very beautiful Jame’ mosque; school of Heidariye; Emamzadeh Hossein; the Chehel Sotoon Palace; the twin towers of Kherghan and finally, the Castles of Shemiran and Meimoon. |  |
